SUMMER LOVIN’ HAPPENED SO FAAAST
The summer is flying by at breakneck speed. It’s already mid-August and back-to-school shopping ads are littering our tv screens. Families are on their way back from the Hamptons and reality is about to set in yet again.
Slice on the Upper East Side has been more quiet than usual this summer, likely because it has been the hottest, must humid summer in a long time and people don’t crave a hot yummy delectable pizza amid the scorching heat. We get it. So to keep busy, we made plans to renovate the Upper East side location, starting with a new awning, new varnished floors, shelving and lots of plants and mason jars put up (think homey woodsy kitchen feel-but a restaurant). ☺
We updated our website, which I am hoping most of you have perused (www.sliceperfect.com) and we have created a list of new delicious menu items which are starting in September (including the tastiest white truffle oil ricotta and sautéed mushrooms pizza you’ve ever had). Come in and try it!
We have a new General Manager on the Upper East Side, Daniel Wolinsky, a chef by trade and a very high energy, opinionated and passionate young man. We have high hopes for him and look forward to watch his creative juices flow. Come by and say hi, he is still a good Jewish boy who doesn’t bite.
Slice West Village has been doing quite well in the summer (thanks to Nina and our killer team) especially since we opened the new sidewalk café. I am interested to see how things go in the fall with both the sidewalk café and the inside space, once the weather cools.
In some great recent news, we are about to officially sign a lease to a third space in Ithaca, New York, at Nina and my beloved alma mater, Cornell, in the heart of Cornell’s college town. I am very interested to see how it does, as this will be the test market to the “college circuit” we hope to enter in the future.
Please do come in to say hi and tell us how your summer went! We are thrilled for the fall in NYC as it’s always the most magical time here.
